HHAeXchange+ Mobile App EVV and GPS Location Services

The 21st Century Cures Act is a law that was created to help people get better healthcare and support. One part of this law says that states must use Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) for certain home care and personal care services. This is to make sure that people who receive care in their homesand community actually get the help they need, when they need it.

At the start and end of a visit, the HHAeXchange+ Mobile App will verify your location using GPS. When GPS (Global Positioning System) is used in EVV, it helps confirm that a caregiver is at the right place when providing care.

It’s important to know that GPS in EVV is only used to confirm the location at the start and end of a visit - not to track someone all the time.

After tapping Start Visit the Electronic Visit Verification page displays with a map of your current location. When starting a visit at or near the Consumer's home, the Service Location will be set to Home. You cannot change the selection in this field as it is based on your GPS location. You must be within 200 feet of the Consumer's home address for the HHAeXchange+ Mobile App to recognize the location as the Consumer's home. Any location outside of the 200 foot area will be set to Community.
