Billed Hours Rules for Visit Start and End Times and EVV Durations
In some markets, billed hours are managed using policy-driven rules, such as managing visit Start/End Time adjustments in respect to the EVV Call In/Out duration. Additionally, rounding rules are applied to EVV Visit Durations.
On an applicable Visit under Patient > Search Patient > Calendar, in the Visit Info tab, Providers can adjust the Visit Start/End Time for a scheduled and confirmed Visit. The adjustments must remain within the corresponding range of the EVV Call In/Out duration.
The system displays an error message if a Provider attempts to enter a Visit Start/End Time that is outside of the EVV Call In/Out duration.
In the Visit Info tab, EVV Call In/Out durations are rounded or unrounded based on the following rules:
-
If an EVV Call In/Out Time is eight minutes or more, then the Call In/Out Time is rounded up to the nearest quarter hour.
-
If an EVV Call In/Out Time is seven minutes or less, then the Call In/Out Time is rounded back (or unrounded) to the nearest hour.
