PA Sex Offender Registry | |
---|---|
What is it? |
Pennsylvania's General Assembly has enhanced public safety by making available public records of registered sexual offenders via the internet. Access to said information is intended solely as a means of public protection, any other use is prohibited. Knowing whether a person is a registered sexual offender could be a significant factor in protecting self, family members, or persons in one’s care from recidivist acts by registered sexual offenders. The website (below) provides public information on registered sexual offenders who reside, or are transient, attend school, or are employed/carry on a vocation (State Police, 42 Pa.C.S. § 9799.28). Pennsylvania's Megan's Law (42 Pa.C.S § 9799.32(1)) requires the State Police to create and maintain a registry of persons who reside, or is transient, work/carry on a vocation, or attend school in the Commonwealth and who have either been convicted of, entered a plea of guilty to, or have been adjudicated delinquent of Certain Sexual Offenses in Pennsylvania or another jurisdiction. |

What is it? |

Aides must have no record of resident abuse, neglect or misappropriation of resident’s personal property. The Nurse Aide Registry is now available online to facilitate a nurse aide’s status verification via the internet. |
