Daylight Savings Time

On Sunday, November 2th, 2024, we return to Standard Time. At 2:00 am, clocks automatically fall back one hour to 1:00 am, repeating the hour between 1:00 am and 2:00 am, effectively gaining one additional hour on Sunday.
Hourly shifts which took place during the change are technically working one hour more than the scheduled duration of the shift. HHAeXchange does NOT automatically increase billing and payroll for the additional hour worked during the time change.
Fall Hourly Scenario
A visit is scheduled for 2000-0800 (8pm to 8am) on Saturday evening. At 2am (Sunday morning), the clock falls back to 1am, effectively adding an hour to the visit. Although the Caregiver actually worked 13 hours, HHAeXchange generates billing and payroll for this visit at the scheduled 12 hours (due to the visit schedule).

On Sunday, March 10th, 2024 we enter Daylight Saving Time. At 2:00 am, clocks automatically spring forward one hour to 3:00 am, effectively losing one hour on Sunday.
Hourly shifts that took place during the change are technically working one hour less than the scheduled duration of the shift. HHAeXchange does NOT automatically deduct one hour from billing and payroll values for shifts worked during the time change.
Spring Hourly Scenario
A visit is scheduled for 2000 – 0800 (8:00 pm to 8:00 am) on Saturday evening. At 2:00 am (Sunday morning), the clock springs forward to 3:00 am, effectively subtracting an hour from the visit. Although the Caregiver worked 11 hours, HHAeXchange generates Billing and Payroll for this visit at the scheduled 12 hours (due to the visit schedule).

-
Hourly visits which took place during the time change may need to be manually adjusted to correctly bill for the service and/or compensate the Caregiver. Applying a manual adjustment to visits affected by the time shift are covered below.
-
Visits scheduled using a Daily or Visit Service Code are not affected by the time change, as billing and payroll is calculated at a flat rate for these services.

To adjust either the Billing or Payroll information for visits scheduled during the time shift, go to the Visit window and open the Bill Info tab.
Use the Adj. Hours field in either the Bill Primary Bill To section to adjust the number of hours to be billed to the primary Contract, or the Payroll Bill To section to adjust the number of hours to be included in Payroll. Adjustments made to Billing or Payroll using the Adj. Hours field does not affect the Schedule or Confirmation time of the visit.
