TB Assessment Medical Tracking

In response to a shortage of Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) solution for tuberculin skin testing, HHAeXchange is recommending one of the following workflows to manage Tuberculosis compliance requirements in the interim. For more information concern the PPD solution shortage, refer to the following CDC Article.

  1. Go to Admin > Compliance Setup > Search Setup > Select Setup > Medicals/Other Compliance Items and open the PPD Medical.

  2. Click the Add button in the Results section. Enter a new Deferred value and select the checkbox to set it as an Accepted Selection.

  3. In the Generates Upon section, click the Add button. The Generates Upon window opens. Complete the required fields as follows for the Deferred result:

    • Event: Other Compliance Result

    • After: PPD

    • Saved with Result: Deferred

    • Timeline: X Days After Event

  4. Upon saving the Result and Generate Upon conditions, click the Publish button the Compliance Setup to begin applying the Deferred value to pending PPD Medicals.

  1. Go to the Admin > Compliance Setup > Item Manager > Medicals/Other Compliance Item tab. Click the Add button to add a New Compliance Item.

  2. The New Compliance Item window opens. Complete the required fields for the new medical for TB Assessment. Click Save.

  3. Go to Admin > Compliance Setup > Search Setup > Select Setup > Medicals/Other Compliance Items. Click the Add button to add the Compliance Item.

  4. The Add Compliance Item window opens. Select TB Assessment from the Name dropdown. Select Yes in the Require field. From the Disciplines field, select the Disciplines that require this assessment. In the Results section, enter the result values used to track the TB Assessment. Click Save.

  5. Open the PPD Medical and add the following Generate Upon condition:

    • Event: Other Compliance Result

    • After: TB Assessment

    • Saved with Result: Negative

    • Timeline: 365 Days After Event

  6. On the Caregiver Profile > Compliance page, edit the existing Pending PPD or QuantiFERON Medical to TB Assessment. Once a result value is saved to the TB Assessment, a new Pending PPD record is created for the following year.
